Like many other manufacturing sectors, the U.S. metal casting industry is currently in survival mode. With much of the supply chain moving offshore, questions of economics are understandably trumping environmental concerns for many metal casting firms. The process of introducing EMSs in such circumstances is up against conditions which would, in the language of dynamics, be termed "dissipative": you stop pushing, it stops moving.
One or two U.S. metal casting companies are ahead of the curve. Whether other will follow suit in the foreseeable future is an open question.
If any EMS resources specifically for the metal casting sector have been developed, they appear to be virtually invisible to web searching. There are a few scattered announcements of ISO registrations, presumably customer-driven.
